The film in question in this episode takes us in a dark and sinister direction. The 2000 release, directed by Mary Harron follows the high flying 1980s life of Patrick Bateman. His obsession with money and status isn’t the most distateful part of his characyer as we are taken through a graphic depiction of his murderous desires.
American Psycho jumps into the horror genre whilst serving up numerous scenes of dark comedy at the same time. With an obviously disgusting and frightening lead character, the audience is still asked the question, what is the scariest side of Patrick Bateman’s personality.
