Worcester Film Festival X The Glacé Film Club Podcast

September 18th, 2024

In collaboration with Worcester Film Festival, The Glacé Film Club podcast is releasing an exclusive mini-series in the run-up to the festival. The 4-part series features conversations with filmmakers and actors whose films will be screening at this year’s festival. Listeners can also hear an interview with festival organisers, Hendrik Harms and Kirstie Gregory.

The first episode, which was released on the 5th September 2024, features a conversation with brotherly filmmaking duo, Morgan Brothers. Writer and Director, Jake Morgan and composer, Luke Morgan, discuss their new feature film “Froggie” and their excitement for its screening at the festival.

Buoyed by their Oscar longlisting for their short film “The Boat” earlier this year, the pair are in fine form as they go to Worcester with the potential of another award, following their gongs last year for “Best Short Film” and “Best Composer” for “The Boat”

The mini-series will also feature a conversation with writer and director Jacob T McClean alongside Abbie May Wilson who played the lead in their 1930s-inspired short film “Whistling Dixie”. The 4 part series will be topped off by a conversation with Director, Martha Treves and Producer Lia Gomez-Lang discussing their film “Something Else”.

The Glacé Film Club’s exclusive podcast coverage will also extend to the four day festival itself. Interviews and updates from the festival will be featured on their Instagram page with a highlights episode being released shortly after the closing night, giving listeners a flavour of everything that went on.

Podcast host, Marcus Johnson stated; “Covering Worcester Film Festival over the last couple of years has been an absolute joy. The festival attracts a delightful and passionate bunch of filmmakers and film lovers. To capture that film magic on the podcast has been truly exciting. We’re properly enthused to extend our coverage this year with this mini-series as well as the reactions and insights we’re going to capture as the festival unfolds. For a podcast that loves looking at how film can make an impact beyond just being a piece of entertainment, Worcester Film Festival is an unbelievable example of how films can inspire and bring people together.”
